Can I meet the student I sponsor?

Donations normally go into our student scholarship pool rather than being earmarked for a particular student. We do invite all sponsors to come watch a lesson to see first-hand how their donation has been put to use.

If you or your organization would like to establish a scholarship in your name and connect with the students who receive your scholarship, let us know and we'll be happy to make the necessary arrangements.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Cevalo is finalizing a 501.c.3 application, which we expect to be approved in the 2010 calendar year. Once approved, all donations including adoption and sponsorship fees will be tax-deductible. Lesson and camp fees are generally not deductible as charitable contributions, but might be allowable child care expenses. For more information, consult your tax advisor.

What percentage of my donation will go toward subsidizing a needy student?

100% of your contribution will go toward our scholarship fund. Cevalo relies on volunteers to coordinate and manage our programs, so no portion of your donation will be used to cover "administrative expenses".

How do I sign up?

To sponsor a student, go to the Sponsor a Student page and click the PayPal link to contribute to the scholarship fund.
